Student Fete

On Thursday 27th of August we had our Student Fete. My class sold lots of scrumptious slushies! They were delicious. Before the fete every team had to make a plan.

My job was to think of of how we needed to decorate our stall. It was interesting. My team's name was the Decorating Team.

The part of the fete I liked the most was helping my team. I had to talk nicely to the customers. Then, I had to find a cup and fill the cups with slushies. Then I had to put a straw in the cup and give it to the customers. Farin

The day was a great success and we made $107.65, to use on resources for our classroom. What will we choose? Thanks to all the parents for the wonderful costumes. I've included some of the photos from our "Room 12 Fashion Parade" for your enjoyment!

Science Week

Aliyah and Jai (Year 2) make fun coloured milk.
On Friday, the 28th of August, Wattle Grove Primary had a combined Book Week and Science Week event. The children worked in their year level groups to explore how books "light up our world" and physical and chemical sciences. Despite a last minute change of schedule, due to a storm prediction, the morning was a great success. The students were engaged in a number of fun experiments, such as making sherbet, creating a device to protect an egg when dropped and changing the colour of milk, just to name a few! Thanks to Karen G and Karen K for helping run a sherbet station. Your enthusiasm and organisation was most appreciated.

WOW Board- Last Chance!

Hi,
If you haven't had a chance to see our WOW writing yet, now's the time. Our marvellous muddled up fairy tales are currently on display in Room 12. However, next week the  Wow Board will be going to a new home. Thanks to all the parents who have already come to see the students' work. I'm sure you are just as proud of them as I am! Elaha's fabulous work, which she read out at our assembly, is attached below for your enjoyment.

Assembly Tomorrow!

Hi,
As I'm sure you have been made aware by the kids, it's Room 12's assembly tomorrow! How exciting! The door will be opening at 8:25 for students to collect their props etc. We will be moving to the Undercover Area at 8:30. If you arrive late, please drop off your bag and meet us down there :)

As this is a Junior Assembly, there will be no Room 12 Merit Certificates, however these will be presented at the next Senior Assembly,

It would be great to see some familiar faces in the crowd...I  really hope you can make it,
Miss B :)
