WOW Writing

Writing 'Wow' Blog Posts! | Ms King & the Grade 1/2 Busy Bees

During Writing, we have been revising the persuasive text structure. This week, we focused on producing cohesive paragraphs. This means that the examples and explanations we give have to link to our main idea/reason. We have also been revising emotive language, high modality words, writing hooks and editing and refining our work using our success criteria. Here are some awesome examples around the topic; It is OK to Eat Junk Food.

Did you know junk food is actually healthy? According to Doctor Sweets, junk food is actually good for you. For example, let’s say fries. They’re made of potato, right? Potato is healthy. Imagine if you had a gigantic bowl of junk food. Your body would loooovvvve it! ~ Misha

Wouldn’t it be terrible if everyone was eating junk food? Research shows that if you eat junk food you might get diabetes. You would have to pay for every single appointment. That’s why you have to stay healthy.  ~ Kumayl

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you won a race? According to Doctor Scrumptious, junk food gives you energy. On Sports Carnival Day, imagine speeding across the oval, leaving the rest of the people behind you? It is definitely ok to eat junk food. ~ Maddi B

Who thinks junk food is nutrious? According to Dr Health, junk food does not give you any nutrients. Research shows that you will get cavities. You will get s sugar rush, but this will soon wear off, leaving you feeling tired. ~ Manav

Have you ever wondered about the dangers of junk food? By Dr. Treats’s calculations, you get bad things stuck in your teeth. Then you end up paying almost a fortune of money, just to take a rotten tooth out! It’s also unhealthy for your teeth, which should make you feel bad. That’s why you shouldn’t eat junk food. ~ Alistair

How dare you eat junk food? According to Doctor Healthy, junk food can make you feel very tired. Once, a little girl has some unhealthy food and then went to gymnastics and broke her leg. “OMG!” shouted her friend. If you don’t want this to happen to you…DON’T EAT JUNK FOOD!~ Steph

Have you ever wondered how to run fast? Well, junk food is the key to success! Without a doubt, everyone loves junk food because it gives you energy. Imagine not having enough energy…So, you should always keep some chocolate bars in your pocket. ~Carter
