In Maths,
we have commenced maths rotations and are very excited to have begun using our
new Pr1me books this week. The focus for the next few weeks is identifying and
continuing number patterns and understanding place value. We have been talking
about how an understanding of place value is useful in other areas of maths,
such as column addition. One of the students’ favourite maths activities is
playing ‘Sprint to 100’, where children roll a dice and collect ones. Once they
collect ten ones, the can trade them in for a 10. The first player to trade in
ten 10s is the winner!
