Literacy Update


In reading, we have been focusing on the strategy of monitoring. When we monitor, we check that we understand what words and sentences mean. If we reach a difficult part of the text, we can re-read or slow down our pace so that we can comprehend it. 



The students have been exploring proofreading and refining their work. In their teams, they have been proofreading text and thinking of ways to “up level.” Now the challenge is to apply these skills to their own writing!
