History Project

As you will remember, last term, the students completed their history posters on schooling in the olden days. They followed a detailed process of researching using books and the internet, then summarising the important points, using the given headings and finally the typing and presentation of their posters. The standard of work was outstanding and the students should be so proud of their efforts. The students then used the Kagan structure "Carousel Feedback," giving their peers one effective point and improvement point for further reflection.

This week the students presented their History posters to their class mates. The class Speaking and Listening Goal was to try and make eye contact with the audience during the presentation, rather than just reading from the poster. The students have improved their oral language skills over the year and are developing an awareness of the characteristics of an engaging speaker. Francis and Sharon were selected to share their posters with the Year 1's in Room 13, who were most impressed!
