NAIDOC Week

Last Thursday, we celebrated NAIDOC Week. This is a celebration that recognises the culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Islander people. The students got to listen to an interesting presentation about how the Aboriginal people find water in the desert. Did you know that you are able to tell if there’s water by the presence of ants? Ants can only make tunnels in damp soil. So, if you see ants, dig underground and you will find water!  In the afternoon, we joined up with our Year 2 buddies to make Aboriginal flags.
