Merry Christmas

Room 14,

It's hard to believe that the year is over! You came to me as energetic, joyful and clever Year 2s and 3s and now you leave as still energetic, still just as joyful and even smarter Year 3s and 4s! What a pleasure it has been to teach you this year. It makes me so happy and proud when I reflect on all that we've achieved together this year. In fact, you guys have taught me some things too! You've helped me to become a better teacher, taught me to smile lots and not take life too seriously. Thanks for always laughing at all my terrible jokes and puns! Please make sure you come and say hello to me occasionally- you know where to find me!

Parents,
Thank you sincerely for your ongoing support and for your commitment to making your child's school experience a positive one. I have loved working with you and your child this year!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas break.
Miss B   XxX

Last Day Fun

We had such an enjoyable last day together in Room 14. The students completed their Memory Books and then got them signed by all their friends. A massive thank you to Wudase's mum who generously ordered pizzas for our lunch. These were very gratefully received! Then in the afternoon, the students received a gift from a visiting 'Christmas Tree,' before we finished the day with a final sharing circle. The students shared beautiful memories and thanked each other for their friendship, during what has been a very unusual year for all of us! Thank you to all the parents and students for the thoughtful cards and gifts. I really do appreciate your kindness and support. Thanks for a fantastic final day, Room 14. Your futures are looking so bright we all need to wear shades! Love Miss B xx

End of Year Reflections

The year always ends with mixed emotions. Excited, sad, proud, tired and the list goes on...During the last week, the children reflected on what they've enjoyed about this year and also the things they would miss. Here are some of their reflections below.

I will miss having the teacher do puns, doing fun games and having an elf that brings us presents. I will miss doing Morning Work everyday, except Friday. I will miss having my friends in Room 14 with me. I will miss the fun games like Tens and Buzz Off.

I will miss having all of the puns and fun things. I will miss the morning sentences that Miss B made and the games we played. I will miss the cool work sheets that Miss B made. I will miss having my friends in my team and all the work that we put around the room and all the work Miss B put in to help us.

I will miss my friends if they're not in my class next year and I will miss Miss B and her magic teaching techniques. I will miss all the fun and funny jokes my friends and I have. I will miss being in Room 14!

I will miss my long teacher Miss B of course. I will miss the friends I made. I will miss the smiles. I will miss everyone , including Rodney the Elf.

I will miss my teacher and the classroom. I will miss my friends because they are nice and caring to me. I will miss my teacher because she is SOOOOO funny. I will miss my classroom because it held all my work.

I will miss my friends and my teacher because Miss B helped me learn new things and my friends and I played so many fun games.

Look How We've Grown!

It's hard to believe the year is nearly over. 2020 sure has been a year like no other but, together, we have tackled the new challenges as they arose and experienced many successes. The students in Room 14 have not just grown in height, but also in character and that makes me very proud. Amongst the chaos of a global pandemic, we have made memories and friendships that will hopefully bring us joy for many years to come.

Class Picnic

On Tuesday, we made the most of the beautiful weather and had a class picnic. Thanks to the P & C for organising the Subway orders.

Dance Party

We had such a ball at our end of year dance party, despite it looking a little different than usual with the COVID-19 restrictions. This is always one of the highlights for me as a teacher, as we celebrate all we have achieved together throughout the year. I was very impressed with both the behaviour and dance moves of the Room 14 students. Melanie and Guy from Humphrey's Dance have done a great job of teaching both the steps and social etiquette of ballroom dancing. A special congratulations to Tahlia for achieving our Class Endeavour Award and Wudase who received the Academic Book Prize. Both girls are very worthy recipients! Thanks to the parents for getting them ready and looking fine in their party clothes. I have included some action shots below!

Meet Rodney the Reading Elf

We have had a special visitor in our classroom, Rodney the Elf. Rodney loves two things; reading and adventures. Unfortunately, the later of the two ended with him having to visit the Elf-pital. The students in Room 14 have loved his messages and surprised left under the tree.

Santa, I Can Explain

For our final Big Write lesson for the year, the students got creative and wrote a letter to Santa, from the perspective of a "baddy" character, pleading their innocence. These were very entertaining to read and you can find your child's final copy in their test books.
