In Science we have been learning about states of matter and
how heating and cooling affects the properties of materials. The children have
now been busy working in their teams to design, make and test a lunch box,
aiming to keep an ice brick frozen, when heat is applied. We have conducted
simple experiments to test the effectiveness of different materials and learnt
about the concepts of reflection, conduction and insulation. The students are
looking forward to a sunny day to test their lunchboxes and measure their
success. This information will then be used to design their own lunch box.
