Science Update

In Science, we have been learning about materials and their properties. These photos are from a fun lesson where the students were deciding whether the clothing items were made from natural or man-made materials.

Here are the key learning points:

Materials can be natural or man-made.

Natural materials are found in the environment. We may have to dig them out of the ground, grow them or pull them off living things.

Man-made materials are natural materials that are changed through chemical processes of ‘man’.

The students have also been developing a bank of scientific language vocabulary words. In their learning teams they have been sorting pictures of objects, looking for links/differences.
